What we do
Four things, done properly
We set the systems up, secure them, and put AI to work where it actually pays off, then we stay on to keep it running. Everything below is delivered by ShiftTechdirectly, for clients in the New York metropolitan area, with remote support across the United States.
AI consulting
Find the two workflows worth automating. Ship those first.
We start by watching how work actually moves through your business, not how the org chart says it does. Most companies have a handful of processes that eat hours every week and are a good fit for automation, and a much longer list that are not. We tell you which is which.
Then we build the ones that pay. Every automation ships with a measurement attached, so you can see what it saved and decide whether to keep it.
Typical timeline
A review takes two to three weeks. Builds run from a few days to several weeks depending on the workflow.
What's included
- A workflow review across the teams you nominate
- A written shortlist of candidates, ranked by hours saved against effort to build
- Build and rollout of the agreed automations
- A measurement baseline taken before launch, and the result after
- Handover documentation and training for the people who use it daily
IT setup
Networks, devices, identity and cloud, built once and documented.
The systems a growing company runs on are usually assembled in a hurry by whoever was available. That works until it does not. We rebuild the foundation properly: network, devices, identity, and the cloud services you depend on.
Everything we build is documented as we build it. The documentation is not a separate project that never happens, and it is yours to keep whether or not you stay with us.
Typical timeline
Most setup projects run four to ten weeks, scheduled around your working hours.
What's included
- Network design, installation and configuration
- Laptop and desktop provisioning, with a repeatable build for new starters
- Identity and single sign-on setup, including access groups and offboarding
- Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace configuration and migration
- Backup configuration, with a restore actually tested rather than assumed
- Written documentation of everything above, handed to you at the end
Security
Sensible controls, real monitoring, and a plan for the bad day.
We sell security on competence, not fear. The goal is a set of controls proportionate to your business, monitoring that a human actually reads, and a written plan for the day something goes wrong.
You get findings in plain language, ranked by what would actually hurt, with the fixes we recommend and what each one costs you in effort. You decide what to do; we are not going to scare you into a purchase.
Typical timeline
A review takes two to four weeks. Remediation is scoped separately once you have seen the findings.
What's included
- A security review of your systems, accounts and access
- A findings report in plain language, ranked by real-world risk
- Multi-factor authentication rollout and access tightening
- Endpoint protection and patching, monitored rather than installed and forgotten
- Email security configuration, including SPF, DKIM and DMARC
- A written incident response plan naming who does what, and in what order
Managed support
One team who knows your setup, on the phone, not a ticket queue.
Ongoing support from the same people who did the build. You get named engineers who know your environment, reachable by phone and email during business hours, not a rotating queue that starts from scratch every time.
Managed support is billed monthly and you can cancel it with 30 days notice. We review it with you every quarter, and if a month was quiet we will say so.
Typical timeline
A rolling monthly agreement. Thirty days notice to cancel, no minimum term beyond the first month.
What's included
- Named engineers who know your setup
- Support by phone and email during business hours
- Proactive monitoring and patching of the systems we manage
- Onboarding and offboarding of staff
- Vendor coordination, so you are not the one chasing your ISP
- A quarterly review of what broke, what it cost, and what to fix next
How we scope and bill
We do not publish a price list, because the work is not the same twice. Every engagement is quoted in writing before it starts, and the quote is what you pay unless you ask us to change the scope.
Projects
Setup, security and AI work is quoted per project, as either a fixed price or a written estimate with a not-to-exceed figure. You approve the quote before any work starts.
Managed support
Billed monthly at an agreed rate, set by the number of people and systems we support. Reviewed with you every quarter and cancellable with 30 days notice.
Invoicing
Invoices are issued in USD on Net 30 terms unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. You will always receive an invoice before any payment is taken, and we do not keep a card on file or charge one automatically.
The review is free
The initial review and the written summary that comes out of it are free, whether or not you go on to hire us.
All prices and invoices are in US dollars (USD). See payment terms for accepted payment methods, card surcharges and refunds.
